Dear members, We need to address this item from the AGM Minutes 2025 before February 28th (a BMC Deadline for Membership) 7. BMC Membership /Future of Club The need to still be members as a group to the BMC was discussed. We are now a smaller group and don’t advertise or actively seek new members. We are a group of friends anyway. The BMC don’t list us as an active group on their web site (don’t know why) We are anyway all responsible for ourselves and it is really only public liability that We are covered for. This maybe covered individually by our own house insurance. The advantages for some, Maureen in particular, is the discount we get form Coltswold in particular for being a member. For Sue it means she can get insurance From BMC ago cover certain Ultra Trails she takes part in, not available elsewhere. Individuals can become full members and receive these benefits. Peter W is a full member and could possibly claim liability using this. It was strongly felt by some that they valued the Web Site as a means of Communication. This could be covered by a small sub. It was mentioned that a What’s App group could be set up for this. It was agreed to discuss this further, check individual insurance for liability/legal implications over the next months. No final decision needs to be made till next subs are due. (Feb 2026) but hopefully agreement around Dec. Then there maybe need for another meeting to formalise if not rejoining. WE HAVE 4 Options 1 Renew our BMC Group Membership (Cotswold 10% withdrawn Dec 25) Cost for 12 members £305 + Website £100 (for 12 members Annual Cost £35 pp approx) 2 Not renew BMC Membership but take out a Private liability Insurance for 12 members. Cost £112 approx. Website £100 3 No liability insurance, but keep Website. Cost £100 4 No liability insurance no website Communication via Whats App Chat Cost £0.00 Please think about these options and whether you are going to rejoin. It will be easier if you could let me know your thoughts before the next walk. . Though the Club membership expires Feb 28th 2026 ( when I have to submit names) our BMC date is Mar 31st 2026 Suggestion is that we make the final decision about this on our next walk planned for Sat 28th February 2026.
